So let’s get into it.
How do you do a lash lift?
Before You Begin, preparation is key.
- Massage the Sachets: Before diving into the procedure, gently massage the sachets to ensure the contents are well mixed and ready for use.
- Sachet Efficiency: Keep in mind that one sachet can typically treat between 3 to 4 clients, making lash lifts an efficient and cost-effective treatment option. We recommend piercing a small hole in the sachet which can be easily covered with a with micropore tape for example, so that you can use the remaining product on other clients in the same day.
- Storage and Usage: Once a sachet is opened, it must be used within 24 hours (or 7 days for patch testing) if sealed immediately with micropore tape and stored in an airtight container after every use.
- Patch Testing: Always perform a patch test before proceeding with the full treatment to ensure your client has no adverse reactions to the products.
- Avoid Water and Cling Wrap: During the procedure and aftercare, refrain from using water and cling wrap, as this can affect the results.
The Lash Lift Procedure: Unveiling Beautiful Lashes
- Begin by assessing the client's lashes to determine the appropriate processing time. Each individual's lashes will vary, so customization is key.
- Complete a client's consultation sheet to record any allergies or specific needs.
- Position the client comfortably on a treatment bed.
- If required, take a before photograph for reference.
- To protect the client's hair and clothing, use a headband and drape a towel over their upper body.
- Sanitize your hands thoroughly.
- Remove any makeup residue using an oil-free makeup remover and a clean cotton pad. Dispose of the used pad in a bin.
- Comb through the client's lashes using a disposable mascara wand, which will also come in handy later in the treatment.
- Place a collagen pad under each eye to secure the client's bottom lashes beneath them. Ensure all lashes are underneath the tape.
- Choose the appropriate shields, trimming them to fit if necessary. This is very important. If you use a shield that is too big or too small, the lash curl will be compromised. Eyelashes should not be longer than shield.
- Apply adhesive to the back of the shield and position it on the eyelid close to the lash root as possible. Ensure all top lashes are in front of the shield. Hold it in place for 20 seconds.
- Grab your Lami Lift Balm and silicone brush! This is a replacement for using adhesive on the lashes. The balm is a lot more forging that adhesive for the lashes, as it allows you more time to straighten the lashes.
- Apply the Lami Lift Balm to the lashes in small sections with the silicone brush to lift the lashes from the root and attach them to the shield. Gradually move along the shield until all lashes are bonded.
- Straighten the lashes with a Y comb. This is the benefit of using the balm, as it gives you lots of time to straighten the lashes.
Pro Tip! Ensure you do not pull the lashes too tightly on the shield or you will pull the skin and expose the waterline, which will make the lashes go flat.
- Massage the Step One sachet, remember to pierce a small hole to remove the product so you can seal it again.
- Pro Tip: Apply Step One as close to the root as possible without touching the skin. Only apply Step One halfway up the on the lashes, or halfway to the highest point of the shield. Do not go over halfway up the lashes or the lash will not curl at the end.
- Apply a small amount of the cream from the root to approximately one-third up the lash for a lift using a micro-applicator.
- The amount of time you need to let Step One process varies depending on the client’s natural lash:
- Very fine to fine lashes: leave on for 4-5 minutes.
- Tinted or natural healthy lashes: leave on the for 5-6 minutes.
- Natural healthy lashes: leave on for 6-8 minutes.
- Remove Step One using a clean micro-applicator after the processing team, with a rolling technique, ensuring the solution does not touch the tips of the lashes.
Step 2: Neutralizing and Optional Tinting
- Massage the Step Two sachet and apply a small amount of the lotion using a micro-applicator to the same area where you applied Step One.
- The processing time is the same amount of time you choose for Step One.
- Remove Step Two with a clean micro-applicator and dispose of it in the bin.
- For an optional colour boost, grab you preferred dye and developer.
- Prepare the chosen dye using a 1:1 mixing ratio, the same amount of dye and developer. Apply the dye using a dye brush.
- Remove the dye after 3-5 minutes using a clean cotton bud, and then discard the used cotton bud.
Step 3: Moisturizing and Aftercare
- Massage the Step Three sachet and apply the serum over the lashes using a micro-applicator. Then gently release the lashes from the shield.
- Apply Step Three to the eyelid, under the lash shield, as well using a micro-applicator. This will allow you to gently remove the shield from the eye.
- Use a clean cotton bud to remove excess serum from the eyelid and dispose of it in the bin.
- Comb through the lashes with an eyelash brush to ensure they are nice and fluffy.
- Instruct the client to leave Step Three on for the next 24-48 hours and to avoid water and makeup.
- Show your client their gorgeous lashes!
- Recommend the client to use Lash V’s lash growth serum to prevent dryness, premature lash fall out, and to maintain lash health.
- If necessary, take an after photograph.
- Explain the aftercare instructions to your client and provide them with a printed copy to take home along with a mascara wand for maintenance.
Mastering the art of lash lifts can provide your clients with a stunning and low-maintenance way to enhance their natural beauty.
